This is not a novel or a novelised account; it contains the actions undertaken by a tough group of fighters, highly trained and never doubting when asked to risk their lives to fulfil a mission: the green berets. Soldiers who nourish and inspire the Spanish Special Operations Units; Units that allow force to be used differently: discreetly if that is what is required, during peacetime, crises or in conflict, or in the grey area in-between, whether to undertake precision operations against high value targets, thereby minimising collateral damage; or obtaining accurate intel, in sensitive or hostile areas, on their own or in tandem with other organisations; or to bolster local forces so that these are able to overcome threats prior to these affecting Spain, or a combination of the foregoing. Jaime Iñiguez Andrade, nació en Burgos en 1959. Recibió el despacho de Teniente de Infantería en 1981, pasando a la Reserva en 2019 de General de División y como Comandante del Mando Conjunto de Operaciones Especiales. Más de la mitad de esos 38 años ha estado destinado en Unidades de Operaciones Especiales: COE 62 (Bilbao), COE 12 (GOE I, Colmenar Viejo, Madrid), Mando de Operaciones Especiales (Alicante) y Mando Conjunto de Operaciones Especiales (Retamares, Madrid). También ha estado en la Brigada Paracaidista, en la Fuerza de Acción Rápida, en el Cuartel General de Operaciones Especiales de la OTAN y en el Mando de Operaciones. Ha desplegado en Centroamérica (1990), Bosnia i Herzegovina (1996), Kosovo (2000) y Afganistán (2010); en esta última nación dirigiendo la Célula de Fusión de Unidades de Operaciones Especiales de la Coalición. Ha sido recientemente designado como NATO SOF Senior Mentor (mentor principal de operaciones especiales de la OTAN).
